Junior Achievement Rocks
By Jeff Hilimire on Friday, February 2nd, 2007We just finished the first of what I’m sure will be many Junior Achievement Job Shadows at Spunlogic and we had such a great time! We had around 20 kids from a local high school come and spend a day with us to learn about working at an interactive agency. I can assure you that we got more out of it than they did! I certainly recommend it to any company that is interested in giving a little back to the community and helping and inspiring young minds.

As always, I am impressed with teens’ understanding of Social Media and how they interact with it on a daily basis. More and more the generations underneath “X” are becoming experts in non-traditional communication and have helped shape the great tools we use today.
I look forward to when I am 30 (cough, cough) and how different the landsacpe will be. Until then… lets keep on rejoicing with blogs, tags, video, etc., etc.
I was also impressed at how many of the students could grasp the reason why websites are designed the way they are. This was a a very intellegent and motivated group.
Junior Achievement job shadowing was a great experience for the Spunlogic team. We had a chance to get involved with such a vibrant and excited group of young people. It makes me proud to say that these are the people that will potentially be growing into the interactive marketing industry. These kids weren’t just excited, they were smart and talented individuals with a bright future ahead of them.
How refreshing to spend some time with a group of kids who have such high aspirations! Clearly they are defining how they want their favorite brands to market to them - a complete reversal of traditional advertising.
