The Do’s and Don’ts of a Second Life Engagement Party
By Amanda Neel on Thursday, February 7th, 2008Here in the Behavioral Research Department, we always have the opportunity to uncover unique and interesting discoveries. So, when we were tasked with planning a surprise Second Life engagement party for Spunlogic Account Manager Nalini Humphrey, we thought we had a pretty good idea of what we were in for. Unique and interesting definitely weren’t lacking, especially with Batman, flying watermelons and….Well, take a look for yourself … click on the video below. =)

I must say it was the best virtual engagement party a girl could ever ask for. And was as much fun as could be seen and more.
Thanks to everyone that was a part of the surprise, especially Jeff, for coming up with such an innovative idea and to the Behavioral Research team for pulling it all together.
That was crazy, whoever came as Batman, that crazy monster, the Zebra…that person really shouldn’t be allowed to come to any more engagement parties in-world.
Unless they were provoked by the guy with the watermelon gun, which I was. I mean, “he” was. Obviously.
When somebody at the shower turns into a vicious dragon thing, it becomes an obligation of the other guests to protect the bride. Hence the cage and the gun.
An over-the-top response? Perhaps. But it seemed like a good idea at the time.
Congratulations, Nalini!

The virtual engagement party was quite entertaining. Only in a virtual world could you see a watermelon gun, a zebra, and Batman at an engagement party. I can’t wait to attend the next virtual party!
I definitely have to agree with Jeff. Next in-world engagement party, we’ll have to hire a bouncer.
I’d like to see how her real life engagement party compares to this one
Haha, it was a fantastic party - my favorite part was the toast with the bubbly!
Congrats again, Nalini! Great job BR team on capturing this to share with others!
